Ponder Environmental, A California-Qualified OSRO

Off

Oil Spill Response Organizations (OSRO), including Ponder Environmental, play an integral part in California’s Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR) planned response to any oil spill incident.

An OSRO has the ability to rapidly respond to a variety of oil spill incidents and is evaluated regularly through OSPR’s unannounced drill program.
An OSRO does more than just handle emergencies, as Ponder Environmental offers several key services:

  • Containment & Contingency Planning
  • Drills and Deployment Exercises
  • Site Remediation
  • Waste Management Services: Sampling, Analytical, Profiling, Labeling, & Manifesting
  • Waste Storage Containers
  • Waste Transportation

Who needs an OSRO?
Owners or operators of tankers and barges that transport oil in bulk across state marine waters; non-tank vessels of 300 gross tons or greater which carry oil as fuel; and facilities which are located where a spill could impact waters of the State of California. Marine facilities include marine terminals, marine refueling docks, offshore facilities, pipelines and mobile transfer units. Inland facilities include production facilities, terminals, pipelines and railroads. Learn More.
